Tyler is in Maryland seeing Dr. Rodrigues. I talked to the doctor and he said that Tyler’s new jaw has to come out. It has already started poking through the skin and causing lots of pain. Tyler will be home today and returns to Maryland on the 26th of February for another follow up.

Doctors are getting ready to replace his jaw with yet another plastic jaw. He still cannot get the blood to change so that it will work with Dad’s bone. If he can’t fix the blood problem, there’s a good chance that the transplant drugs would cause a cancer remission. So the transplant is on hold for now. Gees, how many more surgeries can Tyler take? Dr. Rodriguez said that he is really worried about Tyler. I don’t think surgery will be on the 26th, but soon.

Please pray for our family. I am sitting at the hospital with my daughter Tammy. She had a wreck and broke her neck, and has a fracture in her backbone. I sat in ICU eight days and nights with her. Tammy is doing a little better, but has a long way to go. She will be sent to another hospital for therapy. Please say a prayer for her. It’s so hard on me now with Tammy and Tyler both having so much medical treatment. Tammy will never be able to drive again.

Please, please pray for Tyler and Tammy. Hug your kids let them know you love them. You don’t know what tomorrow may bring.

I’m so sorry I have been away. I was ill for a few days. I was very sad to log back on and see that Tyler is not doing well. I have outlined the updates that have come through in my absence. ~Jess

Darlene wrote several days ago that, “Tyler will be leaving on Feb 26 for Maryland to see Dr. Rodriguez. His jaw has been hurting a lot, so the doctor needs to make sure it’s not infected. Although the doctor says it’s probably okay, Tyler’s face is shallow and looks like it has an egg sitting on it, and an open wound that has not closed up completely.” Tyler was still having pain in his legs as well, but the pain medication was helping.

Darlene’s daughter Tammy is still in ICU after her terrible car accident. She may not make it, having a broken neck and back. She has not woken up since surgery, Darlene has spent every free moment of seven days prayer for her daughter to wake up. If you wish to send her encouragement, she is at Greenville Hospital, 4th floor ICU, room f4006, Greenville, SC. Through this all, Darlene maintains her steadfast faith. I marvel at her strength!

Below is her most recent update:

Tyler’s Dad Richie is still not too happy about donating his bone. He’s afraid, but will do it for his son. Dr. Rodriguez said that the plastic temporary fix must come out of Tyler’s jaw. I still love and trust Dr. Rodriguez and his team so much. He’s a wonderful doctor and will never give up on Tyler. The next surgery is going to be a scary one, and Tyler’s face doesn’t look the same anymore. He still has the two big places where he lost his hair…this worries him.

Just imagine if this was your child. I will never give up on getting Tyler help, even if I have to stand holding out a jar for donations. God must have some great plans for this child. Even if you cannot donate, you can keep praying for Tyler. He still loves the mail that is sent to him.

Jayden is still sick and throwing up. I wish they would find out what’s wrong with him. Ethan is OK and Nathan is doing good. Nathan loves school. Tyler’s teacher still comes to the house, and said Tyler is doing well in his schoolwork. Tyler loves Mrs. Bright who is also Nathans’s K4 teacher. Tyler’s sitting around playing the games he got for Christmas. God has been so good to us and sends his angels to help Tyler and our family. May God bless each and every one of you.

The Little Rebel restaurant has told us that they will do a cruise-in for Tyler in April. Mrs. Leeann Shelton will be arranging it. She’s so wSweet and loves Tyler so much. If any churches in Greenville or anywhere would do a benefit for Tyler of some kind, that would be so great. Just get in touch with us. (" target="_blank">)

God always provides a way to get Tyler to his treatments, all the way to Maryland, 600 miles. It costs a lot but Medicaid will not cover his medication in Maryland unless he’s in the hospital. If you can donate, that would be great, or mail gift card for food. If you want to donate. Even the smallest amount counts up and you can do that here using the “Donate” link at www.tylertucker.com, or with payal to " target="_blank">.

You all are the reason that Tyler gets the medical attention he needs. He couldn’t travel without your assistance and donations. Our family and Tyler really appreciate it! Even if you can only give a few dollars, please don’t think that won’t help because it does.

Kiss your children and tell them you love them. You don’t know what tomorrow may bring. I really couldn’t cope with this without God in my life. The school picture was taken back in August. Tyler doesn’t look that way now, but he’s still beautiful in my eyes! God hears your prayers so please keep praying for Tyler.

Thank all of you. We love you all!

Hello everyone.

Tyler is ok for now he’s having jaw pain and leg pain and his chest hurts him his face is still swallow and looks like it has a egg sitting own it, also has a open wound that has not closed up completely . Dr Rodriguez’s was called and he said he thinks he’s ok. It Seems like Tyler will have to learn to live with pain. Tyler’s next appointment is January 26th in Maryland and Dr Rodriguez’s will decide what is next for Tyler, and when we will be doing the bone transplant. Tyler’s Dad Richie still not too happy about that but says he will do it [he’s afraid]. Dr Rodriguez said that the plastic will have to come out of Tyler’s jaw it was just put in for a temporary fix. I still love and trust Dr Rodriguez’s and his teams so much he’s a wonderful Dr and will never give up on Tyler. Hello everyone, hope you had merry Christmas!

Christmas was awesome. My boys had a wonderful Christmas, thanks to his angels out there. Flash from Courageous Kids, thank you for loving Tyler and me and all you do for us. Thank you Charleston Elves for giving Tyler and his brothers such a wonderful Christmas. Thank you Johnson & Johnson, for your generous donation to Tyler’s account. Thanks to everyone.

Steven, thank you for always being there for Tyler and always wanting to put a smile on his face thank you for caring about Tyler. There have been times, if not for Steven and Flash, I don’t know what I would have done. Your donations help Tyler get the medical attention he needs so badly. Without the donations, Tyler couldn’t go to Maryland. That would be terrible.

Tyler loved all the Christmas cards; even children wishing him a merry Christmas, wishing him to get well and praying for Tyler. So whatever you did, we are grateful that Tyler has angels that care. My little Nathan also had a great Christmas. He wasn’t on the Charleston Elves list, but someone took care of him because he has to go with us to doctors’ appointments and travel, just like Tyler and his brothers.

Tyler’s face is looking a little better, not as bad as it did. I was really worried. He is having some jaw pain and his legs are both hurting him. He’s still taking pain medication and antibiotics. I don’t know what we are going to do about paying for his medications in Maryland. Dr. Rodriguez’s license doesn’t cover prescriptions in South Carolina, and Medicaid won’t pay for them in Maryland. God is with us and has provided for Tyler nine years now. I know he will take care of Tyler’s needs somehow.

Tyler is facing more jaw surgery in a few months. I don’t know how his little jaw can take much more getting cut. I cannot believe that my boy has been through 48 surgeries and doesn’t mind it at all, but that’s all he’s ever known. Please keep up the prayers. I am praying for a miracle for Tyler.

I promise that all the money sent goes in Tyler’s account so he can go to Maryland, 600 miles from home to see his doctor. South Carolina has given up on Tyler, saying they ran out of options. All the gas cards were used to get gas to go to Maryland.

I want to say thank you to Jessica for she has kept updating Tyler’s page for a few years now. She’s a blessing to Tyler and our family. We love you all so much, and I know God is hearing your prayers.
