Tyler is doing okay; his jaw has all ready started hurting. I cannot belive that the bone they placed in his jaw last June has also started dying. It seems like he went through all that for nothing. Now his legs and jaw hurt him. We go back to Charleston July 7th. It’s to see the doctor that operated on his ear.
PLEASE KEEP TYLER AND HIS FAMILY IN YOUR PRAYERS
Well we went to see Dr. Oneal yesterday. Not the best of news. I took Tyler in myself to see the doctor. The stitches in Tyler’s neck were making his neck hurt. The doctor removed them with Tyler’s head laying on my chest. I told him not to move at all and it wouldn’t hurt, so he didn’t. He was as still as he could be. We got through that okay. Dr. Oneal told me that there is nothing else that they can do to help Tyler; that there are no more opinions. He said that Tyler was going to have major things come up in the future. Tyler’s bone from his leg, that was put in his jaw, has now started dying. Tyler will be facing many jaw replacements as he grows. He also said that he is ready to write a letter saying that they have done all they can for Tyler; that they don’t know how to fix Tyler’s jaw. He said he would talk with any doctor that thinks they may be able to help Tyler.
Please hug your child and say ‘I love you’ each day because you don’t know what tomorrow will bring. CANCER IS A MONSTER. It can kill your child or it can cause so many hurt full things, as in Tyler case. This was 27 surgeries. Ashley and I talked and we think that Tyler has been through enough. We decided no more surgery on his jaw, unless they are 100 percent sure that they can help Tyler. We will wait until Tyler can say if he wants to do it or not. We will return to see Dr. Oneal and Dr. Day on December 22nd to see how much of the bone has died. We also go back to Charleston July 7th to see Dr. White about Tyler’s ear. Tyler has also got to see Dr. Davis about the few teeth that are hanging in his mouth. All the roots have died. This is also in Charleston. His little legs were hurting on the way home.
I feel like the surgery has messed up his legs and was done for nothing. Both bones now are dead or dying. At fist I was mad, but on the way home I had a long talk with God. I know that these doctors saved Tyler’s life; that with out them, Tyler wouldn’t have been here with us. He would have died years ago. I hurt because I can’t find a cure for Tyler. I want him well. Now that he has had cancer he has soo many, many things wrong with him. Tyler has trouble breathing because he lost part of his right lung. He has scars all over his little body. He’s just been through so much. I know that I need to just be thanking God that he’s with us. Lots of the families that have children with cancer don’t have there babies.
It’s just so hard not to ask God why. It’s so hard to watch this little boy when he’s in pain. Please keep those prayers storming heaven. God hears every one of them. Tyler has a hard life ahead of him. We love and appreciate you all.
Tyler will still be going to oncology and scans when they think he needs them. One more thing; Tyler’s spoiled rotten, but I couldn’t help it. He really loved getting all the get well cards and notes. Thank you all. Also Jamie made Tyler a quilt. It had our picture on it with Tyler. I wanted to tell her he loves that quilt and we appreciate every one that has helped us.

A PRAYER. IT MEANS A LOT TO TYLERS FAMILY.
Tyler got up this morning with his jaw hurting really bad. This is the first time its hurt like this. Ashley said it feels so tight that the skin could burst. Poor little guy.
We go to Charleston on Monday to see doctor O’Neal. Hope he knows what to do to help Tyler. He’s still taking pain medicinefor his legs and wearing his brace.
Just keep praying for Tyler. We love you all. Thanks for all the snail mail Tyler loves it!
Tyler’s surgery is over and he seems to be doing just fine. Of course on more pain medication. He’s such a strong little boy. We got to Charleston Monday night and Tyler said, “Nanny, go ahead and take me to the hospital. I want to get this over.” He wasn’t scared. I told him he couldn’t go till Tuesday morning. Ashley said he went in to get ready for surgery on Tuesday and told the nurse to give him the gas mask and put him to sleep; he wanted to get it done and over with.
We were told that they cut the bone off and that there was part of the metal plate also sticking through, so they cut that off also. Doctor O’Neal said that Tyler’s bone that was taken from his leg to replace his jaw has also started to die. I told Ashley I would give Tyler my bones if they could use them. She told me that they can’t; Tyler will always have trouble and he will need lots more surgeries. They don’t know if they can figure out what to do about his jaw and no hinge; right now they don’t know how to fix Tyler’s jaw. I am going to ask Dr.O’Neal to call Dr. Mars in Florida about Tyler’s jaw.
First, I want to thank God. With God all things are possible. That has been proven so many times with Tyler and our family. Praise the Lord for his mercies. We are truly blessed. I want to thank some special people that are always willing to help. First thanks to Happy Days crew for the food card that really helped out. You all are just wonderful. We have some left over money on the food card to use when we come back in two weeks for an appointment. Sorry Tyler was so hyper in your office! I don’t know why he’s like that, guess it comes from all that has been done to him. He gets very nervous around people. Thanks Shannon for keeping baby Nathan every time we need you it sure helps so we can be with Tyler during surgery. We love you.
Thanks also to Pat for all the movies that kelp all the kids happy during our four hour doctorive there and back. Thanks to each of you for the most important thing of all, your prayers. Tyler has now had twenty-seven surgeries and must face so much more. Please keep signing Tyler’s page. We count it as one more prayer for Tyler. God bless each of you; know that we love and appreciate you all. Please pray for some miracles for TyTy.
