Hi everyone,

I couldn’t sleep again. Its two o’clock in the morning so I decided to update you all on Tyler.

Tyler went to see his leg doctor yesterday and they said he’s doing fine. It was a long day. Left at eleven, didn’t get home till four. We saw the doctor and then Tyler had to have a lot of papers filled out so he can have a home bound teacher come out when he’s not able to go to school. We don’t want him to get behind. I sat in the car with his two brothers a while and inside a while. It’s hard when you have to take all the other kids, but we don’t have a choice most the time. Anyway, we all survived.

Monday is a trip to Charleston to the cancer clinic that takes about three and half hours there and then again back. We will be driving straight through and turning around coming back the same day. My goodness I sure hope all the kids are in a good mood. Jayden has been such a good boy lately. Nathan is being a screamer, ethan a cry baby and our Tyler is always sweet. He never complains, no matter how long the trips are.

Tyler will get scans and heart test, blood work done at MUSC Children’s Cancer Clinic. Tyler will see the doctor here on Wednesday to take a look at his jaw, then in two more weeks Tyler goes to Maryland to see Dr. Rodriguez about his jaw. He’s looking forward to seeing Dr. Rodriguez. He’s such a wonderful doctor. Trying to get things arranged with Flight of Hope. Tyler and family will be staying at the Ronalda McDonald house if they have a room for us. If not we will have to find some where else.

I won’t be going this time. Tyler, his grandfather and Ashley will be going. This will be the first trip I haven’t went with him, but I am sure his mom and papa George will take good care of him. I have not been feeling too well and under a doctor’s care, so i will stay home with Nathan. Tyler’s dad will keep Jayden.

Once again, thank each of you for your love and support. There are so many people that love and care about Tyler. Without you, we couldn’t get Tyler to all the medical appointments. You know who you are. Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Unless you have a sick child you cannot even imagine all the child and family go through. Even though it’s hard, we do it. We fight to be sure the cancer monster never returns. I ask God every day to help all these kids and their families. Please pray for a cure.

Like I said before, I never let a day go by that I don’t tell all four boys that I love them. You don’t know what tomorrow may bring. We love you all so much and need you to keep Tyler and our family in your prayers.

Tyler’s birthday is on the 9th. I cannot believe he’s going to be ten years old. He’s getting so tall, but still way to skinny…

Hello everyone,

The Cruise-in for Tyler last night was great. There was a big turn out and the weather was great. It was wonderful to know so many people care about Tyler.

Thank you all at the Little Rebel. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Thank you Leeann and your family for all the hard work and getting this together. Also thanks to you Benny. I know you’ve been sick yourself but you still came out to help with the cruise-in for Tyler.

AND THANKS TO ALL THE WONDERFUL PEOPLE THAT SHOWED UP TO SUPPORT TYLER.

Tyler said to thank Helen for all the free chicken wings; he loves them, and she made sure he had plenty. Tyler said he wants checking wings from the Little Rebel for his birthday on the 9th (Except I think he will be in Maryland that day seeing Dr. Rodriguez at that time.

Tyler was there for a while but his leg started hurting and he had to go home. Tiffany did face painting with the help of her friend Brandon and did a great job. There was a chicken dance and Hoola Hooping. There were some great door prizes and a fifty-fifty drawing. There were also some really awesome cars brought out. The parking lot was full. Jeremy had his friend come take some great pictures. We’ll get them later to post. These images are from my camera.

THANK YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.

Tyler’s journey is still far from over. He will still need your prayers for a long time. I know that God hears all your prayers. Tyler is one special little boy, with a lot of people standing with him to fight the cancer monster, to see it doesn’t attack his little body ever again.

Even with Tyler in remission doesn’t mean he’s cured. The cancer monster destroyed his body, but Tyler was a fighter and will be a winner in this journey. What a strong little man he is. I say man because there’s not one man out there that could have went through what Tyler has and lived.

GOD BLESS WE LOVE YOU ALL

Hi everyone,

We finally got Tyler off to school today. He’s standing up on his leg, seems to be doing okay, but he’s still having pain. I hope it will go away when it is healed. His foot turns side ways on him when he tries to walk and his shoes hurt because he’s still swollen.

We will be taking him to the doctor here on the 24th, and then we will go to the cancer clinic in Charleston on the 27th for heart testing and scans. After that, we are going to try to get a flight to Maryland to see Dr. Rodriguez about Tyler’s jaw and more scans.[geez!] I don’t no how long we will be there. Hoping to be able to stay at the Ronald McDonald house for just a few days.

Then Tyler’s birthday is Oct 9th. We haven’t made any plans for that yet. When we get home, he will have to see his leg doctor again, so please keep us in your prayers. Tyler’s journey is far from being over.

THIS HAS BEEN GOING OWN SEVEN YEARS NOW

What a trooper he is.

Also don’t forget about the Cruise-In on Saturday at little Rebel. The information is in the last update. Tyler would love to meet some of you folks. Please pray for good weather and that everything goes well. Thank each of you and we love you all.

We are back from the doctor and she said that the biopsy didn’t show any cancer. Thank god for that!

Tyler’s stitches were removed from his belly where they took the biopsy. Tyler has eczema. That’s what is making his skin flake and peel. She said it will take a while, but it is treatable. So Tyler must keep the grease on…yuck!

Well we then went to the jaw doctor to get notes for school. Tyler has to have special food to eat at school since he cannot chew without teeth to help him. Got that and then had to go to the leg doctor to look at his leg. It swelled some, but is okay. He still won’t put any weight on it, but it’s only been a few days since the surgery. He’s really sore…maybe it will get better soon.

Then we had to go to the school with all of Tyler’s notes and let them know what the doctor said. If he cannot walk by the end of next week, we will send him to school in a wheel chair.

We also got a note from doctor Rodriguez’s secretary in Maryland. She said that he is back in the office and that he will be calling us. Tyler is having some jaw pain and he’s having some trouble swallowing. Doctors here said his jaw is pulling sideways and that it is really tight. I bet we will have to take him back to Maryland, but that’s okay, we will take him.

Thank you for all the help and thank you Courageous Kids for all your love and support. You all are heaven sent to Tyler, his angels. We love you all and also thanks to the folks at the Howling Wolf for all their kindness. You all showed how much you really care. Please keep Tyler in your prayers.

Tyler’s Cruise-in is on the 18th. Please come if you can.

Well surgery is over…number 43 according to Ashley, although I thought it was 41. Tyler is doing okay. The doctor said that the screws were embedded deeply and he had to dig them out. Tyler will be sore for a while but hopefully he will be able to walk soon. The doctor is not sure the foot will stay where its supposed to with the fibula missing and that Tyler may end up with a brace or cast for a while. We will have to wait and see.

Goodness what these children have to go through. Even when the cancer is in remission it doesn’t mean its over. Tyler will be having surgeries the rest of his life. We will just thank god he’s alright for now and thank all of you for your continued love, prayers and support of Tyler. It’s been a long hard day.
