Hi,

Flash and Tyler

We went to Charleston to Pins and Pizza Party for Cancer Kids on the weekend. It was really great and Flash did a wonderful job, there were chicken wings and pizza drinks fries cake all you wanted to eat and more, and we got to spend the night motel furnished. It was Tyler’s first time bowling and he loved it. he dost get to do things like that much.

We were also treated to a wonderful breakfast before leaving to come home. Courageous Kidz is a wonderful organization and they have helped Tyler so much. Thank you Flash for loving not only Tyler but also all your kids. We were also so happy to see all the families there. These families have touched our hearts in one way or another, and all have or have had children with cancer.

Tyler has been hurting when he eats, it may be getting worse; his jaw is turning again. I have not heard from Dr. Rodriguez, but called again for him to call me. We are still seeing doctors a lot here in Greenville. Tyler goes to the endocrine doctor on the 20th (I think). Not only has his endocrine system been affected by radiation therapy (because radiation for his jaw tumors also damaged parts of his brain), but he also has weak bones, another common late effect of chemotherapy. Taking bone from another part of his body might not even work.

We can only pray and trust in the power of god and the strength of your prayers. Tyler still doesn’t want any more bones taken from him. He will end up on a feeding tube and unable to use his mouth and jaw if he doesn’t have the surgery in March. So please pray for Tyler. He still has so much suffering he has to go through.

We were told that Tyler would get his wish for Christmas…the TV. And there are some others that will also be helping with the boys for Christmas. Thank you all so much, you are surely a blessing to Tyler and his family. You know who you are thank you from the bottom of my heart. Without your kindness, the boys would not have a good Christmas. You are his angels.

But most of all, let’s remember that Tyler needs your prayers. We thank God for all of you. Please take a minute and sign Tyler’s guest book here or at Caring Bridge. It means so much to our family to know you were here. And Tyler still loves all the cards. Thank you for them. It puts a smile on his face.

I want to thank God that he has put each one of you in our lives and that Tyler and his brothers have been taken care of. This has been a long journey and Tyler still has a long way to go. He cannot make it without your love and support, we love you all. The address is below if you want to send Tyler or his brothers a card.

Hi everyone,

Tyler has had a lot of leg and jaw pain lately. He says his jaw hurts when he eats. His mom, Ashley, said she saw the x-rays and that his jaw was really in a mess. I have tried to get in touch with Dr. Rodriguez, but he’s off teaching, so it will be after the holidays before he calls. Tyler will have to see the jaw doctor here in Greenville. The trouble is that he cannot do anything to the jaw except look at it and give medication. Tyler sees the leg doctor on December 5th (I think that’s the day).

The colder weather is not good for Tyler. He needs to get outside but wont he wont to sit in the house, says his leg and jaw hurt when he’s out in the cold. His mom and dad don’t have a car so they don’t get to go to the movies or anywhere else unless I take them, but they are happy kids. Dad hasn’t been able to find a job in about nine months now. Still, God has provided. I fussed a lot at him because it worried me so much that he wasn’t working, but he really is trying to find a Job. We live eight miles from anywhere, here in the woods. Anyway, things are okay and they are making do. No unemployment because he got fired from Walmart because he stayed home to keep the other children when Tyler had his jaw surgery. Some people said they couldn’t fire him for that…well they did.

I have been trying to arrange Christmas for the three boys and Nathan. Can you believe Nathan is going to be four in march? Tyler is already 10 and Jayden is 4. Baby Ethan is already 2. Tyler hasn’t asked for much except the TV and someone said they will get it for him. Gosh they are growing up way too fast and as you all know they are my life. I couldn’t love them any more than I do and I thank God each day for them. Even with Tyler being sick, he’s the highlight of my day. I love him so much. I still tell them ever day that I love them because no one knows what tomorrow will bring…and when I get those little hugs, it’s all worth everything I do for the boys.

Tyler hasn’t asked for much except the TV and someone said they will get it for him. Jayden asked for a remote control truck and someone is getting that for him also. Baby Ethan just don’t care and Nathan hasn’t asked for anything.

Gosh these kids are growing up way too fast and as you all know they are my life. I couldn’t love them any more than I do and I thank God each day for them. Please keep praying for Tyler and our family. God hears those prayers. Tyler must go under the knife again. Hoping it can wait till March because he doesn’t want to do this. He does not want them taken his hip bone to put in his jaw. But if we don’t, he’s going to end up on a feeding tube for the rest of his life. So he has to do it. This will be just one more of many more surgeries to come for Tyler. Also our trips to Charleston MUSC Hospital have slowed down and we don’t have to go there but two times a year. Now everything is moved to Maryland and Greenville.

Now for me. I don’t have the e coli anymore. The last test showed clear. I go see the doctor for another test on Nov 30th and I still have to see the specialist to find out why my body wouldn’t except the antibiotic. Your prayers worked and I think you all from the bottom of my heart, Thank you!

Tyler still loves getting the snail mail. God bless you all that send mail to him. It puts a smile on Tyler’s face. The address is at bottom if you would like to send a card and make Tyler smile, or send one to Jayden Ethan, or Nathan.

We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Don’t eat too much, and I also wanted to say that this is one Thanksgiving that I have so much to be thankful for. After seven years of struggling, dealing with Tyler’s cancer and the aftermath of cancer, I still have my boy with me.

GOD HAS GIVEN US SO MANY BLESSINGS

God bless, we love you all.

ONE MORE THING. SAY A LITTLE PRAYER FOR TYLER’S MOM, ASHLEY. SHE BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH.

Hi every one,

Well, Tyler has had a wonderful week with little pain. He’s been able to attend school all week, and he’s still loving school. We are going to take Tyler the 27th to Charleston to Courageous Kidz Pins and Pizza party. This should put a smile on his face. This will be so much fun for him.

He’s such a sweet child and thanks you all for all your love and support. Gees, you all have just been wonderful, and I know that you are the reason that Tyler is here today, so many prayers being sent up for him…because you all cared. We have been able to get Tyler to his doctor, and get the medical help he needs and will need for a long, long time. Cancer and the after math of cancer is so hard on the children and families. Tyler has three doctors here that look after him; his leg doctor is here at MUSC of Charleston. In addition, Dr. Rodriguez in Maryland, which is so far from home. Maryland is 12 hours from Grenville SC. There are no doctors in SC that can help Tyler with his jaw, so we have to travel.

Tyler is already talking about Christmas. He’s like a little dad to Jayden. He said, “Nanny, please don’t ever let them cut Jayden like I have been cut.” Tyler has a scar from ear to ear. He has a scar from his back to his chest. He has a scar where he had a tracheotomy. One all the way from knees to ankles on both legs and he has three scars in his belly from feeding tubes. He also has a scar where his port was. It’s a small one. Now you tell me, have we got a strong trooper here or not!?! Oops, he has two scars from them grafting skin for surgery on his jaw too.

Through this, God has been so good to us. He’s placed angels here on earth to help and he’s kept our boy here on earth with his family. I know someday we all have to leave this earth, but I sure am not ready for Tyler to go. I think God has wonderful plans for this child, so please keep us all in your prayers.

Now, as far as me, I still have the e coli and I haven’t heard from the specialist yet. The doctor took more tests last week and will be calling me about them. She did say she saw some improvement in my urine, so maybe the antibiotics are taking affect. At last I hope so, I just have to be well before Tyler has any more surgery.

After Christmas, I want to get a team Tyler Tucker started and get shirts printed. I was wondering how many would be willing to buy a shirt from Tyler and be on his cancer survivor team… just thinking about this. Shirts would range between maybe $12 to $15 dollars. But we will have to give this a lot more thought and check on getting the shirts.
I would need someone to design the shirts; I sure couldn’t, any ways we will just be praying about this.

Please sign Tyler guest book and let us know that you were here.

Courageous Kids has helped Tyler and our family so many times for so many things. Please take a minute to visit them on facebook and give them a “like.” Thanks!

Hi everyone,

Well things here are about the same .Tyler has been doing good and going to school. He seems to like school. The cooler weather is not good for Tyler. He wakes up at night with his legs and jaw hurting and having to take pain meds. It’s getting a little harder for Tyler with swallowing his food, but he is able to do it. He has been sitting around playing his game with his brother. I was looking at Jayden’s pictures and Tyler looked just like him at 4 years old.

I want to ask that you pray for Tyler and this family. We have a long journey yet to travel with Tyler. I hate to know that he will be having surgery around March. Time is going so fast that it will be here in no time, but we have to do what we think is best for our boy. I don’t want to see him on a feeding tube all his life.

Tyler has gained a little he now weighs 60 pounds yay! A LITTLE WEIGHT GAIN IS BETTER THAN NO WEIGHT GAIN.

He still wants a TV for his room for Christmas so he can lie in his bed and play his games after surgery. Hoping we will be able to get it for him. Just think it will soon be Christmas. Another year passed. My boy is ten years old. We have fought a long hard battle since Tyler was two. And with our faith in God we will win. The devil will not take Tyler from us. He has so many battle scars. What a trooper.

Tyler’s foot that he twisted at school is better. I wish I could just make all this better for him. Tyler’s bones are soft and break at the least little thing. He’s a strong kid. I don’t know why he hasn’t had a nervous breakdown by now. He’s still seeing the leg doctor here and the jaw doctor but the jaw is getting worse. Also, Tyler got his report card. A’s and b, and c and a special note from his teacher saying she has never had a child in her class that is more polite and respectful than Tyler. I wanted to scan report card and put on here but the scanner is no good.

We figured it out. Here’s Tyler’s report card. We’re so proud!

JAYDEN, NATHAN AND ETHAN are all doing fine.

Now, about me. I am okay. I still have the e-coli and go back for more tests Wednesday. The antibiotics just don’t seem to be working. I still haven’t heard from the specialist yet hope to hear soon. I need to get well so I can take care of Tyler and be with him for his surgery.

You all are angels and there are just not enough words to say how great full we are to each of you. Thank you all for loving Tyler. He still loves getting all the cards and stickers. We can’t answer every one of them but know that we thank you. Tyler said to me, “Nanny, look. These people really care about me.”
