It looks like Tyler is getting a little break. He hasn’t had a lot of pain the last couple of weeks, thank God. Tyler will go for x-rays Wednesday on his leg and jaw. we will go from there after we see what the x-rays say. Right now Tyler flies back to Maryland august 11th.was looking back we made six trips to Maryland last year, for surgeries and doctor’s visits. Thank God, people care and try to help Tyler.

The Cruise in went well and we raised a little money. Thanks everyone at the little rebel and Leeann Shelton, and her family, for all you done to help., I’ll try to have a yard sale last week end in July before traveling to Maryland on the 11th of August.

Thank you Steven for Tyler’s pool he’s on his float enjoying it. I just wish you could have seen his face when he received it!

There is a lady out there, Pat Paliskey, who has been following Tyler for years. She has sent movies and other treats for Tyler. She loves both Tyler and me and has written to Oprah many times about Tyler. Well she sent a new email to , at the new OWN station to try to get her to help Tyler. Oprah is supposed to be reading emails herself. Maybe if a couple of you could email her Tyler’s story, she would pay attention and answer. Would be worth a try.

For now, Tyler is eating and seems to be doing OK. doctors say this won’t last that the jaw has failed and Tyler will need more surgery.

That’s what the trip in August is about…to discuss when to do the next surgery. They with will be taking mom’s bone from her leg and placing it in Tyler’s jaw. They also need to look at his jaw and leg to see that every thing is okay. God, I keep my faith in You. Please take care of my boy. We still have to get the screws out of
Tyler’s leg that holds his foot onto the leg. That will be done here in Greenville. It was canceled because of the leg being broken in the last surgery.

Please also say a prayer for my daughter Tammy. She is in the hospital and needs your prayers. I won’t go too far into this. God knows why. She was in there six weeks and now back in again. She came to stay with me for a while with no one to take care of her, but then she had to go back to hospital.

There is also my granddaughter Jessica. She has MS [not good,] She’s twenty-two and needs your prayers. THE DEVIL IS REALLY WORKING, BUT HE WON’T WIN. I WILL KEEP MY FAITH!

For me, I’m okay, just trying to do my best. Nathan’s doing great. He tested for k4 Friday and I hope he gets to go. All is well with Jayden and Ethan.
As I have said so many times before, hug your kids and tell them you love them. You don’t know what tomorrow will bring, and thank God if you have healthy kids. I know that God has plans for Tyler. Lord, look at all he’s been through…45 surgeries and all the other stuff, God has always provided a way.
We love you all and thank you for your love and support.

God is Amazing.

Hey Everyone,

Tyler is doing a little better.

He has not had a lot of pain in the last week. Tyler has started walking with his walker. He can walk without it, but the doctor doesn’t want him to. Tyler is such a strong little boy. What a trooper! He sits and plays his games and never complains. How I wish he could run and play with his brothers.

Tyler is going to have therapy sessions. He also has appointment for x-rays next week on his leg and jaw. Tyler will go back to Maryland on August 11th to see Dr. Rodriguez. We will then talk to the doctor about using Ashley’s fibula to put in Tyler’s jaw. How I wish that they could use mine. I am old and have lived my life, so I would do it if I could…but it will not work.

Tyler has scars all over his little body. I don’t understand why these jaw replacement just won’t work for Tyler. It’s still hard for him to eat, and he chokes. Tyler has started eating cube steak. It has to be cut in tiny pieces, but he’s eating it. He still loves pizza and spaghetti.

Someone ask why we keep having the surgeries after they fail. We are hoping that one will work. We don’t want to see Tyler on a feeding tube and possibly die because he cannot eat. The jaw replacement gives him a temporary fix. Maybe one day they will be able to help Tyler?

I know God has something special in mind for my boy. Tyler has been through 45 surgeries, and I have to write it down to keep up. Tyler has a long way to go and he has done a lot of suffering. We thank God for the good days. Please keep praying for Tyler!

You all have been wonderful and we thank each owe of you. Thanks to everyone. The cards and all the other things have made a difference in Tyler’s life. Thanks to everyone that has donated money to help. Tyler has to have most of his medical treatment in Maryland, 600 miles from home. He does see doctors here, but just to look at his jaw and leg to make sure he’s okay, and for x-rays. Without all your help, Tyler couldn’t get to Maryland for his surgeries and treatment.

A special thank you to the children’s flight of hope. You all have been wonderful. Thank you Steven also. You have put so many smiles on Tyler’s face. Tyler had asked me for a pool, but I knew I couldn’t get one for him. Well, Steven stepped in and said let’s get the boy a pool so he will have some summer fun. He deserves it. Steven then called Wal-Mart and paid for Tyler to have a 16 x 48 swimming pool. It will be here on the 24th. Steven has done so much to keep Tyler smiling and I thank him from the bottom of my heart. Steven’s son must be so proud of him. He has an awesome daddy. Steven loves and cares so much for this little boy he’s never meet.

Tyler’s cruise-in this Saturday at Little Rebel, Taylor, SC from 5 until 9. Please pray for a good turnout. Thanks to Helen, Leeann and every one that is helping arrange this. God bless you all. Pray for no rain! I also want to once again thank Jessica. She always does the update on Tyler’s page. She takes her time and puts other things on the bottom of her list so she can do this for Tyler. She has never met Tyler, but she like many others, fell in love with this little boy that needs you all so much.

Tyler passed his grade and will be in fourth grade next year. Tiggerville School has also been good to Tyler and his family. Tyler had school pictures with his class, and I will be posting them when we get them.

Also, there’s a new web site…please go visit. It was made by April and Christian Lorey. Take a look and leave a comment. They have been praying for Tyler for years. The site is called Songs for Cancer Kids. Please keep praying. Tyler has so much more to go through. We love you all!

I just received a distraught email from Darlene. Tyler is in Maryland now. He flew there this morning with his mom and papa on the Flights of Hope. After he sees the doctor, they are flying him home again. Darlene couldn’t go because Ashley could only bring one person and needed her husband so that he could help get Tyler on the plane (which Darlene cannot do). She understands that it’s just cheaper and easier on everyone for her to stay home, but it’s very hard for her to be away from Tyler, especially getting some bad news about his jaw.

They did x-rays and said that the surgery on Tyler’s jaw didn’t work. They are now seeing it as a temporary fix. Tyler’s journey remains long, with no break in sight. Dr. Rodriguez said that Tyler will have to go back to Maryland August, 11th unless he has more trouble with his jaw before then. The jaw is infected as well.

They discussed possibly taking bone from Ashley’s fibula, but because Tyler has had so many failed surgeries, Dr. Rodriguez doesn’t want to chance having both Tyler and Ashly laid up in the hospital. She has other young ones to think about as well. Although Darlene was willing and able to donate bone, it must be from the mother since she is a closer genetic match. [Darlene clarified for me that Dr. Rodriguez does want to look at trying a donation from Ashley in 8 or 9 months. Ashley is more than willing to donate bone for Tyler.]

Darlene is very upset, since the jaw surgery was one of their last chances to keep Tyler off a feeding tube. He’s so thin already. When the titanium jaw was working, he was eating again and putting on weight, but that was short lived because of other cancer complications.

Dr. Rodriguez wants to give Tyler  time to heal before the next surgery. He’s already had 45 procedures and now he’s had his leg painfully broken for nothing. He’ll have to have yet another surgery to get the rods out from that. Tyler will have physical therapy three times a week, and the place is 23 miles away in Greenville, 46 miles round trip three times a week. Then he’ll see the Greenville doctor that treats his jaw.

She writes, “Please, please pray for Tyler. He needs those prayers. This is so stressful, emotionally and financially. Thank God for all the people that care about Tyler and try to help our family. Pray for the Cruise-In, that it turns out good and that we make some money for Tyler’s account. Pray for Ashley, Richie and me that we will make the right decisions for Tyler. Like my friend Flash always tells me; its in God’s hands. IF YOU HAVE KIDS, KISS THEM. LET THEM KNOW YOU LOVE THEM EVERYDAY. No one knows what tomorrow will bring. Thank God for each healthy child!”
