Tyler with his father.

Tyler is now in remission. This doesn’t mean he is cured or better in any way. Sadly, The cancer has done so much damage to Tyler’s little body.

He has been through 55 surgeries, facing #56. We will have to take him to MUSC for scans and Maryland for treatments and surgeries. He will spend his entire life going through this. He will never be 100% better, as the doctors told us. He has had a lung removed, and 1/2 of his leg bone taken out to replace his jaw (from both legs). This now causes Tyler to hurt when he walks. Tyler had to be home bound from school. He has a wonderful teacher that comes out. He loves Mrs. Bright so much.

Once again, his jaw replacement with the leg bone isn’t working , nor is anything else that the doctors have tried, so they have to fix that again. Not only this, but Tyler tends to get sick often and can only eat soft foods. His face stays swollen on one side and pulls sideways, making his whole face hurt.  He cannot do things like normal kids because of these things. We also have been told he maybe never able to have babies when he is older.

The cancer he had isn’t like common cancers. The doctors told us Tyler wasn’t suppose to live. We are very lucky to have him. I know he is going to make it!!!!!!  He’s been fighting nine years now.

The chance of Tyler’s cancer coming back is very high, but we think he will be fine because we are trying so hard to get support for him, and having the whole world caring about him. We have hope, and Tyler is a warrior!

Be sure to leave a note in my Guest book (both TYLERTUCKER.COM and Caring Bridge) Poor Tyler’s been through a lot and could sure use some cheery mail to remind him that he’s special and loved by God and all the angels that God has placed in his life. Share a little joy with Tyler by sending him some “happy mail.” he loves cards, and Christmas is here in four short weeks. Reading Christmas cards would be great!

We love you all!

Hello everyone,

This will be a short update; there’s not much to tell. Things are just about the same as when I last updated. Tyler is still taking his medication for pain. His dad is still hurting from a broken back. On top of that, Ashley got an infection from getting her tooth pulled and ended up at the ER. Jayden, Nathan and Ethan are doing great, thank God.

Tyler wants me to take him shopping and let him get some Christmas gifts. This was strange. He never asks to go shopping. Tyler said he wants to buy for his brothers and himself. I didn’t have the heart to tell him we don’t have the money. I tried to change his mind and told him we would have to push him in his wheelchair because he wouldn’t be able to walk that long, and that there would be bunches of people there. I think he saw a black Friday commercial on TV.

I don’t think I will be able to take him. Finances are really low and he has surgery coming up as soon as they get his new jaw made.

I have my faith, and I will pray about this one. Can you believe Christmas is only four weeks away?

Tyler and his cousin… the only great grand girl. We have seven boys.

We had all eight grand kids over yesterday. What a blessing in my life!

Thanks to all of Tylers angels. Please keep praying. We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Please be safe.

We love and appreciate you all so much. I know in my heart that your prayers have kept Tyler with us.

Please, anyone who doesn’t want updates on Tyler, let me know in a nice way. I will take you off our mailing list. I got a really smart email from Lisa (I won’t give a last name). She said she was tired of hearing about Tyler and not to ever email her again. This is a child that may not live a long life, and I know that he’s been fighting for years. I am only trying to save my grandchild, and she had to have emailed me, or I wouldn’t have had her email. We are suffering already. We don’t need more.

First, I want to start by thanking God, the Flights of Hope and their crew for the wonderful flight to Maryland. Thank you all for loving and supporting Tyler and our family. Also, thank the Greenville County Cancer Society for the $75 to eat while we were in Maryland, and for helping with Tyler’s family’s light bill. And thanks to the Marty Lyon’s Foundation for making Tyler’s wish come true. He will go to Give Kids the World at Disney on January 8. You are all angels sent from heaven and we love you so much.

We have some bad news… so sad. Tyler will have to have another jaw replacement surgery. Dr. Rodriguez said that he was getting a jaw built just for Tyler. He said that if we don’t do this, Tyler will not be able to eat before long, and that he will be in awful pain. Tyler still hasn’t got that darn virus he needs to do the transplant from his father. Dr. Rodriguez also said that we will have to keep Tyler on the Loratab until he can get the jaw made, and that we need to get prepared. He wants Tyler to take the Disney trip before the surgery, just in case he has to stay in hospital in Maryland a long time. He said our stay would be three to four weeks if everything goes all right.

Please, please pray for Tyler and our family. He’s been through so much. Dr. Rodriguez said that he would contact us soon as the jaw is ready for Tyler’s surgery. This will be number 56 for Tyler. I hate what cancer has done to my boy, and every other child. Unless you have a child like Tyler, you don’t know the hardship and the stress it puts on your family. Tyler has to go so far for treatment. It is worse for our family, traveling 600 miles each way. Thank all Tyler’s angels, no matter what you do to help. We are so grateful.

Tyler’s dad is still having bad pain from falling and breaking his back, but he was able to watch the boys while we took Tyler to Maryland. Poor mom has three teeth hurting her that she have her crying every day. We’re trying to figure out how to get the money to get them pulled for her. She’s an awesome mom and would give her life for her boys. I want you all to know that I have my faith and that I will never give up on Tyler. I know that without God, Tyler wouldn’t be here.

I am so grateful that Tyler has so many angels out there that love him. Thank God the house is paid off.

Please keep praying for Tyler and our family. If you can donate, please do. Your donations have helped Tyler with the medical treatments he so desperately needs. God bless, we love you all!

Please take a minute and  say a prayer for Tyler. He’s going to Maryland today to see what’s coming next. His jaw is hurting and pulling sideways.

Oh how I hate what cancer has done to him and so many more kids!

Hello everyone,

I took Tyler, Jayden and Ethan trick or treating last night. Tyler’s dad is still hurting with his back and their mom has a tooth hurting. We were not going to take them at first, but Jayden cried all the way home from school saying he wanted to go trick or treating. So about 6:30, Papa George and I dressed the boys and went out. We didn’t get to stay long because Tyler started hurting and had to get back for his pain medication.

Tyler will be going to Maryland to see Dr. Rodriguez on Thursday next week. They will be planning Tyler’s next surgery. He’s really getting in bad shape. Please say a prayer for Tyler and me. Tyler has to go to his leg doctor in Greenville next week. He’s getting to where it hurts him to walk.

It takes a lot of gas and food money for all these trips. When you have to spend the day at doctors, you have to feed the kids, it gets rough sometimes. If you haven’t already, would you please put Tyler tucker on your church’s prayer list?

Tyler only weighs about 63 pounds. He should be over 120 at twelve years old. They had mentioned a feeding tube. Oh, how I wish Dr. Rodriguez was here in Greenville. It would make things so much better. 600 miles is a long way from home.

Thanks to all Tyler’s angels, we have been able to take him to Maryland. But without your donations, we could not have done it. I just hope we can keep taking him. You all have saved Tyler’s life so far, but he has a long way to go. I don’t think I would be able to stand it if God decided that it was TyTy’s time, even going through all he has. He’s a happy child. He wraps those long arms around me and says, “Nanny, I love you.” In addition, that make everything I do for him and his brothers all worthwhile. I will fight for Tyler till the end.

I don’t understand why Tyler has to go through all this and I find myself asking God “why?” one day I will know. Pray, pray, pray for my boys. As usual, we need your donations… or even a subway or McDonald’s food card to use while at the University of Maryland Hospital would be great. I know there are so many out there that need help and it’s hard for people now. Just know that Tyler and I are grateful and love you all so much. I hope God blesses you today and every day.

Tyler’s says he’s blowing you all a kiss. Please remember all the people who have lost their homes and so much more because of Sandy. They also need a lot of prayers. Please tell your kids you love them each day, even if they are grown. You never know what may happen.

One more prayer request… my daughter Gail who is 43 has been in and out of the hospital for the last three months. She’s home, but not doing well at all. She says she doesn’t want to live. Please say a prayer for Gail.
